1.2 How it works?
DERMATOPOIETIN® does not deliver any functional components into the skin. It rather acts by triggering the tissue's own regenerative abilities. As a result the process of cell regeneration starts off on the skin surface and unfolds its action in the deeper layer of the epidermis. In response to DERMATOPOIETIN® skin cells carry out a complex process of tissue remodeling that finally leads to skin rejuvenation.

Activation of cell growth signaling cascade
DERMATOPOIETIN® activates genes encoding growth factors such as keratinocyte growth factor (KGF), hepatocytes growth factor (HGF), granulocytemacrophage growth factor (GM-CSF), and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha). These growth factors, in turn, initiate a cascade of events leading to fibroblast and keratinocyte proliferation, keratinocyte migration, and entire skin renewal. There are genes of extracellular matrix components such as collagen, fibronectin, elastin, glycosaminoglycan, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP) that are directly or non-directly regulated by DERMATOPOIETIN®.
DERMATOPOIETIN® suppress expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), a major fibrogenic factor responsible for excessive scarring or keloid formation through promoting proliferation and collagen synthesis of mesenchymal cells. Finally DERMATOPOIETIN® is also involved in maintenance of skin barrier function.
DERMATOPOIETIN® ACTS IN NON-PENETRATING MANNER
One of the main limitations of all current cosmetic agents is the requirement to penetrate skin in order to cause any effect. The process of penetration is very restricted due to the natural skin barrier function resulting in substantially weakened activity of delivered compounds. DERMATOPOIETIN® is naturally produced onto the upper epidermal layer (stratum corneum) from there it is delivered to the skin surface. DERMATOPOIETIN® doesn`t have to penetrate skin as it acts just by binding to its receptor on the skin surface. This top-down mode of action entirely imitates application of cosmetic product containing DERMATOPOIETIN® , making it exceptionally efficient.
DERMATOPOIETIN® IS THE KEY PROTECTOR OF SKIN TISSUE
Apart from its constitutive role in tissue renewal DERMATOPOIETIN® as well protects skin from unfavorable environmental changes like UV, detergents or mechanic damage. In response to these factors DERMATOPOIETIN® immediately induces the process of tissue repair and greatly strengthens skin barrier function. This leads to lasting protection of cells from further damage.
